Stephney Gonzalez has worked with young children in preschool through third grade, advocating developmentally appropriate practice along with the importance of play in early childhood classrooms. Starting in a Westport nursery school, she went on to teach in both private and public schools in Connecticut. Her experience as a multiage teacher allowed her to hone her practice as a teacher of children, not just curriculum. She is a Connecticut certified elementary teacher who holds a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Fairfield University and a Structured Literacy Teacher (SLT). Stephney is Director of the Anne E. Fowler Fellowship at Fairfield University.
