Kristen Troester has worked with diverse learners throughout her career. After several years of of teaching elementary students, she sought to refine both her knowledge and practice to better equip her to teach all types of struggling readers. This led Kristen to enroll in the Reading and Language Development Program at Fairfield University where she was in the first cohort of Anne E. Fowler Literacy Fellows, earning a 6th year degree. As a Literacy How Mentor, she hopes to empower teachers with the knowledge and tools that are critical to improving students’ literacy outcomes. Kristen also holds a BA in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University and an MS in Elementary Education from University of Bridgeport.
