Kimberly HerardProjects Manager
Kimberly Herard’s journey started with an undergraduate psychology degree from the University of Rhode Island, which led to her work as a research associate at the Yale Center for Learning and Attention. As an evaluator of children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder and dyslexia, she learned about the needs of children with learning differences. These experiences prompted Kim to attend graduate school at Southern Connecticut State University for teaching certification in elementary education, as she continued coordinating reading research studies at Haskins Laboratories. Following a brief stint teaching first grade in New Haven, she returned to Haskins Literacy Initiative. Kim now exercises her skills as Projects Manager—aka Right Hand Woman (RhW)—working side by side with Margie Gillis and the entire Literacy How team. She particularly enjoys assisting parents seeking support for their struggling readers.
