Christine Cohen’s drive to ensure that all children have the opportunity to learn began with a profound experience with her second grade teacher and has shaped her teaching career. From her experiences teaching middle school language arts for a private school in Middletown, to her years both as an elementary classroom teacher and reading interventionist in Hartford, discovering the most effective approaches to teaching reading has been her passion. Christine joined Literacy How in 2011 and appreciates the opportunity to work with teachers as they enhance their knowledge and build their repertoire of effective teaching strategies in all areas of reading instruction. Christine is certified both in elementary education and remedial reading, receiving her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Saint Joseph and completion of her remedial reading certification coursework at Central Connecticut State University. She is an Associate in training of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.
